WILLIAM JACKSON (BILL) SELLERS: Born 11 Nov 1838 in AL. Died 11 Jul 1920; Buried Pleasant Hill Cem. Jefferson Co.AL.  Married Mary Cansada Parsons 30 Sep 1860; Mary was born 6 Feb 1842; died 14 Nov 1904 and is buried with her husband.  They had 5 children.  Bill was described as a man of humor, a “clown”.  In 1870 census, they are in Twnshp 18 Range 3.  This is South of Birmingham and not too far from where his Uncle Emanuel lived at the time.  (See Siblings and Maps).  In 1880 and later he was in Twnshp 20 Range 5W which is closer to where Gurley and others lived.  He received a grant in Sec 8 Twnshp 20 in 1883 and added adjacent acreage through another grant in 1889.  This is near where Mary Sellers 1889 grant was located and where Robert Jemison lived as well as sister Lavinia (Sellers) & James Lawson’s family.
